The Outer Box

Hey everyone. As ya prolly’ know Art Walk was last night. This was one of my favorite Art Walks. For starters my man EdBot5000 had his first showing at the Art Center and sold a really great piece, I also sold two pieces, and hell…quite a few of the artists last night sold some work. My friend Mary Atwood ( ill post her site up here later)took third place for her killer photography over at the library as well. Ran into my man Squid Dust who was handing out some skull head stickers with his web site, www.squiddust.com on them. They were prety cool looking. Ill post them up later too. Check out his site…i think he may be gearing up for something big since hes bustin his butt trying to spread the word about his site. Talked to Chad who is helping to pull together the art show at the Pearl on the 10th. He still needs some more artists folks! I finally met Madeline from http://www.artisntrocketscience.blogspot.com/ and we had a nice chat about artists, the art scene, blogging, and the city of jacksonville. Me and Madeline are defenitly on the same page. Its always nice to talk to folks who are truly positive about the city and really see all the potential Jacksonville has to be a thriving art community. When talking to Madeline I was reminded of something Joey Marchy said on www.urbanjacksonville.info. Joey made a comment about the Jacksonville art scene and he said…from what i can remember…that if ya dont like the art scene, then do something about it, its the artists that go out there, start shows, get into show, and push themselve to make the art scene what it is, its really anyones game. Joey made a comment how us young and crazy artists are the one who are making the scene. Its like a piece of clay that those out there willing to devote there time and efforts to, can mold the art scene into what we believe it should or should not be. Big thanks to all those who came out last night for Art Walk. It was wonderful to meet so many new people, hang out with friends, and just have a good time and enjoy the art work. Thanks Jacksonville! Ok…i cant type anymore…my boss is about to freak out because im not getting any work done…gotta slide! Ill post up some goodies later tonight.
