Meet the Digi-Canvas Concept

Ok…i have to admit, this is a great idea. I got this email yesterday and thought I would share it with everyone. These guys have this great idea about putting up plasma tv screens, hook them up to the internet, then they can broadcast an ever changing stream of pictures of random art work from various artists. I like the concept! They are currently conducting a call to artists too. These plasma screens are gonna go up in coffee shops, subways, restaraunts, hotels, etc, etc, I think ya get the picture. Check out there site and send them a message that you would be interested in participating…hell, its even free for the artist they select to be in this thing. Check them out, send them a message on where they can see your work, and BOOM! You may be hanging on the walls in a Los Angeles coffee shop in the heart of the art district or displaying your work in the subways of New York, the sky is the limit. The site is not fully functional yet but, it is basicly there so artists can contact them. Check it!

Here is the info I received:

We’ve built an exciting system, the Digi-Canvas, to display art of emerging artists on flat screens in businesses around the world.  With a seamless online engine at Digi-Canvas.com Artists can upload high resolution images of their work (photography, paintings, digital arts, tattoos, etc…). Then businesses (coffee shops, galleries, hotels, restaurants, lobbies, etc…) can download playlists of art to be displayed on their Digi-Canvas. From here, consumer says, hey I love that piece, grab the remote, hit the info button and learn about you, your work, how and where to buy it.www.digi-canvas.com

The average artist (maybe you) loves to create and hates to market… right? Our job is to show and help you sell your work. Rather than spend 2 months painting a piece, and put it up in 1 gallery in front of a fickle audience, that may or may not buy that exact piece… get more of your portfolio out there. Have your work showing on a Digi-Canvas in a coffee shop in Seattle, Hotel lobby in Detroit, Bank in Phoenix, Art Gallery in New York, a café in Paris, and a museum in Moscow, all simultaneously.

It’s easy, effective, fun, and … (wait for it) … Free to the artist.

The purpose of this announcement is to assist artists with the mission of marketing their art. So if you are an artist and want to get your work out there on the Digi-Canvas, join this group! We will keep you posted on all the exciting developments, artistic opportunities, and much more.

We are launching the system in June of 08′, and currently work with thousands of artists. Drop us a line at
