Just saw this posted up on Urban Jacksonville. Artist Sarah Kay (as well as several other artists)will be featuring some of her work up at Three Layers in Springfield this upcomming weekend. I was curious to find out more about her work so I swung on by her Flickr page to see what shes all about. Her work reminds me of a Dr. Seus book or something. Its really colurful and fun. Would look really cool in a childs story book or as some art work for a kids bedroom. Good stuff! Check her out here on Flickr.

I must say, Sarah is one of the nicest people I have met. As a young artist, there are places and ways for her to deepen her voice (as it were) but overall, her positivity and forthrightness say alot about her, and the integrity of her work.

I myself havent actualy seen her work in person. I heard about her through the ol’ grapevine. Im gonna try my best to swing by her show though. Looks prety cool…and its at three layers…havent been there yet either. Im always down for some cake and art…ya cant go wrong.

Wanna Help Out?

Here is what we need... A Person to take photos at art shows that they attend. Would be nice to have a dedicated photog for the blog that caters to Jacksonville art shows. Interviews- We really, really, really, need help in this area. Its the most time consuming for me and ed and we just cant do them as often as we want to! Wanna do a new interview each month featuring Jax artists??? Let us know if you would be down with interviewing an artist in person or via email. We need ya.
