On Saturday, May 16, 2009, from 6-9pm, ThreeLayers Coffeehouse will showcase the unconventional and inspirational works of local Deepressionist artists Overstreet Ducasse, Adrian Rhodes, and Roosevelt Watson. Music by DJ Catharsis. Enjoy an evening of art, music and wine at the warm and inviting loft style coffeehouse and wine bar. “The Cellar” wine bar at ThreeLayers will host complimentary wine tastings and savory samples during the show. Feel free to tour the new Asian inspired Zen garden and private events room.
The term Deepressionist was concieved by Overstreet Ducasse describing
the art movement in Jacksonville. There are 3 original members of the
Deepressionist, Overstreet Ducasse, Roosevelt Watson 3 and Adrian
Rhodes. However, we consider the deepressionist as a movement. Anyone
who expresses dept in art and believes that our future is brighter than
our current state is a deepressionist. It basically states that
Jacksonville is on a verge of a cultural Renaisance but the birthing
process can be very painful. The term Deepressionist expresses an
artist dept of creation and the troubles we face as artist due to lack
of support from our falling economy.
Three Layers a Coffeehouse is located at 1602 Walnut Street, 32206 (In the Heart of Historic Springfield)-
