About Us

The idea of The Outer Box is to show the world the brilliant work of the southern artists. Brian Gray started the blog back in the spring of 2008 and has since grown to four contributors dedicated to bringnig light to the Jacksonville FL art scene. We are focusing on Jacksonville Florida artists first and foremost. Our town has a lot of local talent and The Outer Box will be here to show the world and the community who we are. This blog is here to display the work of those who think outside the box. We will be displaying interviews with both local Jacksonville artists and folks from outside Jacksonville as well. If you have an upcoming show please feel free to send us the info and we will gladly post it up for you. Browse through the site. We have information on local art galleries, gallery shows, and upcoming group shows here in Jacksonville. We want this to be a central location on the web where the outsider, urban,lowbrow, pop, surreal, underground, graffiti, tagging, bombing, and illustrative artist(wheeew!) can share there work with the public and inform/educate the masses about what we do.

Wanna Help Out?

Here is what we need... A Person to take photos at art shows that they attend. Would be nice to have a dedicated photog for the blog that caters to Jacksonville art shows. Interviews- We really, really, really, need help in this area. Its the most time consuming for me and ed and we just cant do them as often as we want to! Wanna do a new interview each month featuring Jax artists??? Let us know if you would be down with interviewing an artist in person or via email. We need ya.
